Advanced Noise Modelling and Analysis

WBM uses industry recognised software, SoundPLAN, to calculate noise from sources such as transportation, services plant, quarries, industrial or commercial sites. The software uses established calculation algorithms such as ISO9613, CRTN and CRN.

Noise mapping and modelling can provide critical insight to support projects at every stage, particularly where a site has multiple or complex noise sources. Noise modelling is often used to support a noise impact assessment for planning applications, for considering the benefits of different noise mitigation options or if you are applying to the Environment Agency for a permit.

Visualising Noise Impact

Noise maps are a highly effective way to show how noise travels around complex sites and over larger geographical areas. The effects of additional sources and payback from mitigation can be readily determined and shown in professional and visually attractive presentations.

WBM can supply the necessary and timely technical backup of sound field measurements providing essential checks on the models generated. The benefit of this to you is confidence in the knowledge that the assessments undertaken are valid and dependable.

FAQs

How can I reduce / mitigate noise?

Noise from items of plant or machinery is best mitigated at source, using quieter processes or with barriers, screening and enclosures.
