Expert Advice and Support for Complex Acoustic Matters
WBM has assisted clients with judicial review applications, breach of condition notices, Section 106 agreements and injunctions. We have presented evidence for planning appeals and public inquiries, the preparation of evidence as an expert witness for court cases, confidential review of information associated with claims, peer review and critiques of technical documents, troubleshooting and data analysis to assist in finding solutions where others have struggled.
We also provide assistance to clients who have received an abatement notice under the Environmental Protection Act. This might require prompt discussion with the local authority, review of the alleged noise nuisance and the provision of practical advice on realistic and cost effective means of mitigation.
Site Feasibility
With the current focus on environmental impact, new and existing sites are having to consider their environmental footprint, including with regard to noise. WBM provides a site feasibility service to establish the relative risk of expanding a site’s operations, developing a new site or introducing new operations. This can take the form of a simple desktop based assessment or a more detailed assessment with site visits.

FAQs
What is classed as unacceptable noise or nuisance?
There is no set decibel level that defines a nuisance level of noise and the judgement of nuisance is decided by the Court.
