WBM provides help and advice to developers and contractors to meet their statutory obligations and environmental policy commitments. We undertake the prediction and measurement of noise levels from site preparation, demolition and construction activities.
The proximity of noise sensitive premises will impose constraints on developers and these constraints need to be addressed. Sections 60 and 61 of Part III of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 and the two parts of BS 5228 are the principal mechanisms for controlling noise and vibration on construction and open sites. We can assist you in understanding the guidance and recommendations in the code of practice in order for you to achieve your development whilst providing adequate protection to those working on the sites and living in the vicinity.
Many major sites in London have been redeveloped, causing our clients to have to move their operations to other sites or to modernise their plant within the time and physical constraints of major transportation improvements and new mixed use developments. We are currently assisting our clients in negotiations with relevant authorities and representatives of adjacent sites to seek solutions that would allow the development of those sites as well as continued operation of the industrial activity.
