The Walker Beak Mason Partnership (WBM) is an independent acoustic consultancy specialising in architectural & building acoustics and environmental noise. WBM is a member of the Association of Noise Consultants and is also an associate assessor member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment. The Consultants are Members or Fellows of the Institute of Acoustics.

WBM has been involved in a wide variety of architectural and building projects at all stages of development, from the assessment of a site to determine its suitability for development, through to post completion testing.

Our advice has been sought for many different types of development including residential, commercial, entertainment, leisure, hotels and educational buildings. WBM has advised on many significant architectural and building projects.

WBM prepares detailed, researched reports in connection with planning applications, noise impact assessments and Environmental Statements for residential and commercial developments, mineral extraction sites and waste disposal sites. A further speciality is the preparation and presentation of evidence at Planning Appeals and Public Inquiries. WBM offers a complete service, from the provision of advice on initial planning concepts, liaison with environmental health personnel and technical officers, advice on current standards, regulations, codes of practice and noise criteria.

Measurements of existing noise levels and the use of computer models for calculation of future noise levels are conducted in accordance with current technical requirements as appropriate. WBM undertakes peer review work for clients who are seeking an independent view.
