Rachel Canham BEng MSc CEng MIOA (Partner) obtained her Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electro-Acoustics from Salford University in 1993 and gained the Master of Science degree in Environmental Acoustics from South Bank University in 1998. She has worked in acoustic consultancy since 1993 and joined WBM in 1999, becoming an Associate in 2005 and a Partner in 2009. Rachel primarily works in the areas of architectural and building acoustics with particular experience in entertainment/leisure projects, educational buildings, residential and sound insulation and is a registered tester for pre-completion testing. She is also involved in environmental noise projects and has developed WBM's noise mapping capabilities using SoundPlan.
Dr Richard Lyons BEng PhD CEng MIOA MCIBSE (Partner) obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Building Services Engineering from Liverpool University in 1989. Richard worked as a Building Services Design Engineer in both public and private sector practices for 8 years before entering acoustics. He obtained his Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control from the Institute of Acoustics in 1990 and obtained his PhD from Liverpool University in 1993 on research into sound insulation performance. He researched and lectured in acoustics at Loughborough University, before joining WBM in 2005, becoming an Associate in 2008 and a Partner in 2009. Richard is responsible for building and architectural acoustics projects including residential, cinema, heath & fitness and mixed use venues and undertakes a variety of environmental noise projects. He is also a registered tester for pre-completion testing.
Matthew Sweet BEng MIOA (Consultant) obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Sound and Vibration from Southampton University in 1994.
