Site Noise Monitoring

Our ability to help clients with the successful attainment of planning permissions is supported by a full environmental noise monitoring capability. Where appropriate, monitoring may be required for construction site noise, operational noise or for open site activities. The service that we offer does not stop at reporting the monitoring results and we can advise clients of potential problems from, for example, excessive noise that could arise due to plant deterioration or change of operations, so that this can be addressed by the operator.

WBM carries out routine noise monitoring at many mineral and waste disposal related sites each year, in accordance with noise monitoring schemes and limits set in conditions associated with planning permissions, regularly checking that the site activities comply with noise limits imposed by planning consents. The benefit to the client is to avoid the difficulties involved with having to defend action for breaches of condition.

This successful and responsible approach to site noise monitoring is recognised as the best way forward for clients who intend to demonstrate a continuously improving environmental record in the industry. Environmental noise monitoring at mineral sites that demonstrate regular compliance can prove useful in support of applications made to mineral planning authorities for proposed extension areas.
