Becontree Leisure Centre, Dagenham
WBM carried out a noise assessment of a new sports centre in a residential area of Dagenham, including baseline noise measurements, setting limits for external M&E services noise, and the assessment of activity noise break-out, internal sound insulation of walls and floors, and the control of reverberation.
Baseline noise surveys were undertaken by WBM near residential properties around the site of the new sports centre to determine the existing noise environment. We reviewed existing guidance documents and liaised with the Local Authority with regard to determining appropriate limits for M&E services noise and noise break-out. The results of the baseline noise surveys and the proposed plant noise limits were confirmed in a technical report to support the planning application.
