The Axis & The Poynt Nottingham

The Axis

WBM was commissioned by Henry Boot Developments to provide professional advice on all acoustic aspects of this mixed use re-development.  The core of the development was an existing 220,000 square foot former Co-operative department store within the city of Nottingham on Upper Parliament Street.  The re-development comprised retail units, restaurants, leisure (London Clubs International Casino), offices and 18 two-storey residential units. In addition, an additional five storey office re-development within the same former building, was also undertaken and completed in 2008, known as The Poynt.

WBM provided detailed acoustic advice from the commencement of the project; undertaking baseline noise surveys, advising on the acoustic performance of the facades and the acoustic performance requirements of the inter-demise separating constructions. During the fit-out stages WBM gave detailed advice on the internal acoustics of the office spaces.  WBM advised on the M&E services noise issues and liaised with both the Local Authority and each of the tenant's consultants to ensure that the planning conditions with regard to break-out noise would be met.

The Axis has received accolades for the 'Best Mixed Use Development of The Year' by Property Week Magazine (2008).
