Kings Cross Construction Site
For the major redevelopment in the Kings Cross area, we assisted Tarmac and Hanson by assessing the noise implications of replacing concrete batching plants and linking those processes with a major new rail aggregate off-loading facility. This involved baseline noise monitoring, plant noise measurements at other sites, calculations for noise arising from the proposed operations and proposing noise mitigation.
Due to the complex nature of rail networks and freight movement, some of the activities need to take place at night and this required significant investment in appropriate building cladding and noise mitigation measures in order to minimise disturbance to residential neighbours.
