Energy from Waste Facility

Energy from Waste Facility

SITA approached WBM due to our extensive knowledge of mineral and waste sites and related activities to advise on proposals for two energy from waste (EfW) facility sites in Surrey. Consideration was given at one of the sites for the provision of a bottom ash recycling plant, to separate out metal and other solid residues that remain after the EfW process as part of the wider recycling efforts associated with these facilities.

Detailed noise measurements were made at an existing EfW site in Kirklees, including measurements within the tipping hall, near to the turbines and on the roof in the vicinity of external plant and steam vents. The measurements were repeated with a specialist noise consultant to Surrey County Council and allowed detailed conditions on noise to be recommended.
